The Story Behind it All

The story of Lorene’s Learning Loft is really the story of our creator, Whitney. Here’s how we became 3Ls:
Whitney began her career in sales, quickly rising from associate to one of the youngest managers at one of the nation’s largest youth jewelry and accessory retailers. Managing adolescents gave her valuable leadership experience, but she soon felt a calling to focus on early childhood education—a passion she had nurtured for as long as she could remember. She had always dreamed of a big family, imagining a house full of children, though adulthood taught her that raising a football team’s worth of kids might be a bit more challenging than she expected! 😊
She began working in a large childcare center, where she flourished. The love, patience, and nurturing spirit that had shaped her own childhood came alive in her work. Much like in her corporate career, she advanced quickly, earning her education credentials and becoming a Lead Preschool Teacher.
Over time, Whitney was inspired to combine the structure, creativity, and high standards of center-based learning with the warmth and intimacy of a home environment. That vision became Lorene’s Learning Loft—a place where children grow, explore, and feel truly loved.
Today, we partner with organizations like Reading Corps and Think Small to provide a strong foundation for our young scholars, empowering them to succeed in school and beyond.

By bringing together a harmonious mix of age groups; we encourage children to learn from one another and appreciate the unique qualities of each developmental stage. Our philosophy centers on cultivating curiosity, independence, and a love of learning through hands-on experiences that promote emotional, social, cognitive, and physical growth in every child we serve.
